Here is a set of two very large Victorian vases that are handpainted against a green background glass that appears to be Bristol Glass. They are not marked but much of Bristol glass is not marked. The vases are vibrant in coloring and accented with gold gilt... Handpainted with sprays or sprigs of such English flowers as tiger lilies, tulips, roses, and honeysuckle.Brilliant enamel colors were used, including viridian and malachite greens, lemon yellow, light red, ultramarine blue, mauve, and violet. Gilding is used together with enamel decoration. They are 11 inches tall and are handpainted on the front only. The base is 5.5 inches across. The long, narrow neck is 9 inches long and 3 inches wide.
